Walmart’s online grocery pickup expands to fourth store in Madison County
MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – The Huntsville market is one of five areas testing a new service for the retail giant. Customers can order groceries on line, and pick them up at participating stores.
On Tuesday, May 5, the Walmart Supercenter at 8650 Madison Boulevard will become the fourth store in the area to offer the service. The Madison Boulevard location is the first in the area with an overhead canopy and designated parking.
Three other stories began online grocery pickup in February:
- Walmart Neighborhood Market, 7140 Wall-Triana Highway, Madison.
- Walmart Neighborhood Market, 4226 Northwest Oakwood Avenue, Huntsville.
- Walmart Supercenter, 3031 Memorial Parkway SW, Huntsville
Walmart managers hope the free service will be more convenient for their customers. The groceries at walmart.com/grocery cost the same as in the store. But if the price drops before you get to the store, Walmart says you will pay the lower amount.
A $30 minimum purchase is required for the free service. And, Walmart will offer a $5 voucher for a customer’s first purchase
This service is currently only available in Phoenix, Arizona; Denver, Colorado; San Jose, California and Bentonville, Arkansas.
