LAWRENCEBURG, Tenn. (WHNT) – A person was injured Wednesday morning in an accident at a chicken house in Lawrenceburg.  Aviagen is a poultry breeding company.

The worker was moving chickens or eggs in a cart, and the cart turned over on the worker, according to Dave Kennamer, a human resources spokesperson at Aviagen in Huntsville.  The cart weighed about 500 pounds, Kennamer estimated.

The worker was not an employee of Aviagen, but a contract worker from Lyons in Decatur, Kennamer said.  The worker was flown to Huntsville Hospital for treatment.

Kennamer said the incident happened just before 8 a.m.

We’re told the man is in stable condition and should recover.

His name and age were not released.  Kennamer said the man is a trainee.
