ALBERTVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) -  Dale Pruitt from Plainview agrees to become the next head football coach at Albertville High School. A formal vote from the school board and announcement is expected sometime on Thursday. Pruitt confirmed the hire to WHNT News 19 on Tuesday afternoon.

The graduate of Plainview High School is leaving his alma mater where he has coached twice in his career. Other head coaching stops for Pruitt include Pisgah, Fort Payne and Marion County Tennessee.

According to AHSFHS.org, Pruitt's overall coaching record in the state of Alabama is 250-111-0. Last season, his Plainview Bears finished with a record of 9-3 and lost to Colbert County in the second round of the Alabama 3A playoffs. His son, Jeremy Pruitt, is the Defensive Coordinator at the University of Georgia and won a BCS National Championship in 2014, coaching defense at Florida State.

Albertville has been searching for a new coach since Joel Poole's resignation in December. Poole resigned after being placed on administrative leave for the district to investigate a claim of improper discipline at football practice.  Poole had been the head coach for the Aggies since 2009.
