BLUE RIDGE, Ga. — A Greeter at a Georgia Walmart got a big surprise when his manager at his store told him to stop telling customers to “Have a blessed day”. The greeter, James Phillips, said he is grateful for his job at Walmart, but was concerned by the request from his management.

WAGA-TV in Atlanta says Phillips told them, “Many people come to this store and tell me how glad they are that I say that. So many people enjoy Phillips’ greeting, in fact, that once word got out about Walmart’s request the community held a rally for Phillips to hopefully overturn the company’s decision.

Walmart management later released a statement reversing its decision saying, “We greatly value our associates and appreciate his work of the company. He is welcome to continue sharing his greeting with our customers.”
