BOAZ, Ala. (WHNT)- Boaz Fire Chief Jeff Beck confirms a man died in a house fire on Arrington Drive in Boaz early Saturday morning.

It happened just before 5 a.m.

Four people lived in the home, and three were able to make it out safely.

The Marshall County Coroner Marlon Killion confirms 88-year-old Millard Arrington died in the fire due to smoke inhalation.

Arrington was pronounced dead at the scene.

Fire crews are still working to determine what caused the fire.

They say it was hard to fight because the house is at the end of a long, private driveway and they needed help from Aroney Volunteer Fire Department teams to shuttle water to the scene.

It was still smoldering around 2 p.m. Saturday.
