TENNESSEE VALLEY (WHNT) – The Tennessee Valley is under a Winter Weather Advisory until 6PM.

At 1:10pm, Huntsville Police issued an advisory that Cecil Ashburn Drive, Green Mountain Road, & Monte Sano Boulevard have reduced visibility due to heavy fog.

Roads were slick and icy Thursday morning, but no adverse driving conditions (other than wet, sloppy roads and poor visibility) have been reported since mid-morning.  Temperatures are above freezing, and that should keep us wet at the ground instead of icy through the afternoon and early evening.

Earlier Thursday, Madison Police urged drivers to use caution on slick bridges, overpasses, and elevated roadways.

Decatur Police also responded to several wrecks between 8 and 10 a.m.  Some bridges and overpasses froze over, too.  Public works sent crews to lay down sand in several spots.
