NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WHNT) - The University of Alabama in Huntsville traveled to Vanderbilt and fell 74-51 to the SEC member. Vanderbilt improved to 10-7 with the victory, while the game does not count to UAH's record as it was an exhibition for the Chargers.
UAH will now return to Gulf South Conference play, hosting rival North Alabama on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall.
The Chargers were led by the Saunders twins in the contest as Josi Saunders hit three 3-pointers to score 16, while Dina Saunders added 15 points and a team-best three steals. Loren Foster was also strong for the Chargers, going a perfect 3-for-3 from beyond the arc to score nine.
In the opening half, the Chargers jumped out to a 9-4 lead by the 15:56 mark of the period, but Vanderbilt responded by outscoring UAH 37-16 in the remainder of the half to hold a 41-25 lead at the halftime break.
