ARLINGTON, Tx. – We’re just 10 days away from the College Football Playoff National Championship between Oregon and Ohio State, and some Tide fans are looking to unload their tickets for the game.

Ohio State beat Alabama 42-35 Thursday night in the Sugar Bowl.

WHNT News 19 caught up with a Madison family in that very predicament; all dressed up, nowhere to go. Pam Sparks and her family entertained a house full of cheering friends Thursday night. It became apparent in the 4th quarter, the party was over. For Sparks and her die-hard Bama fan family, the let-down was enough. But because they used TeamTix to ensure they had a chance at championship tickets in hand, they also had to worry about the fiduciary fall out. They put in for the option to purchase 4 Oregon and four Ohio State tickets at face value using the online sports ticket reservation site.

The Sparks’ credit card was charged for the tickets they bid on before the Sugar Bowl even ended.

“At least we would be holding 4 tickets that we could turn around and sell to some one else who could use those, we wouldn’t just lose our money,” Sparks says of the thought process.

They thought ahead, never expecting they’d have no need for tickets or a trip to Texas. So, the social media blitz commenced.

“6 o’clock Friday morning I started posting on different social media sites, Facebook and whatnot to see  is there any interest from any local Oregon and Ohio State fans who would like to go to Dallas to see their team play.”

The tickets were practically spoken for in a matter of minutes. Now for the Sparks family the focus is on being better — not bitter.

“There’s always next season,” Sparks smiled optimistically. “I think one of my friends has already started the countdown: 290 something more days until kickoff, so there’s always something to look forward to as a Bama fan.”

Looking forward to next season with hope, especially after the family was able to get their money back.

I am interested in 2 or 3 tickets to the game. I live about 30 minutes from Cowboy’s Stadium and can pick them up on game day. I will help someone keep from eating their tickets. i do not plan to pay more than face value. Let me know if you are looking to get rid of your tickets before you are left holding them at gametime. There are THOUSANDS of tickets left still. i wouldn’t expect to make much off of them at this point.
