COLLEGE STATION, Texas (CBS) - Engineers imploded the west side of the football stadium on the Texas A&M campus, which previously held just over 83,000 people.

The implosion makes way for major improvements.

It took several thousand pounds of explosives to get the job done.

Now crews need to clear out the thousands of pounds of leftover debris before building a whole new west side, which is scheduled to be finished in time for Texas A&M's first home game next season.
