MADISON, Ala. – Employees of a Madison company which recently transitioned to being 100% employee-owned donated $680,000 to charity Monday.

A-P-T Research, Inc. (APT) recently completed an Employee Stock Ownership Plan transaction and is now 100% employee-owned.

After the ESOP move, employees were given the option to donate appreciated shares with low-cost basis to the Community Foundation.

“We are proud that our employees continue the tradition of giving back to our community that APT has fostered for many years,” APT President Tome Pfitzer said.

APT employees gave over $680,000 to the Community Foundations.

The Community Foundation of Huntsville/Madison County has raised or managed over $14 million in charitable donations and has distributed over $3 million to nonprofit agencies, churches, and schools in the community.
