HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) - Some Huntsville students had an early Thanksgiving morning.  The Grissom High School band gathered at 2:30 a.m. to leave for Hollywood, California.

They are marching in the Hollywood Christmas parade.

Buses left around 3:45 a.m. for Nashville where the students hopped on a plane for California.

One student we caught up with said she's looking forward to more than just the parade.

"I just want to hang out with my friends and enjoy the time together that we'll have over there" said Joelle Kim.  "We'll make memories."

The students will visit Disneyland and Universal Studios while in California.

The parade is Sunday, but you can watch it on WHNT2 the Saturday night before Christmas.
