Lions Win in Over Time

FLORENCE, Ala. (WHNT) - Nathan Spehr was 4-of-9 from three-point range and finished with a game-high 24 points to lead the University of North Alabama men’s basketball team to a 96-89 overtime win over Martin Methodist Saturday evening at Flowers Hall. The win gives UNA a 3-1 record on the season while the Red Hawks (4-1) fall for the first time.

North Alabama led by as many as 13 points in the first half and carried a 42-35 lead into the break. The Lions, however, could never pull away. Martin Methodist took one-point leads on two different occasions in the second half and got a basket with less than seven seconds remaining to tie the game at 79-79 at the end of regulation.
