MARSHALL COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT)-  With the countdown to Christmas underway, the Marshall County Christmas Coalition is in need of sponsors.  Almost 1,000 kids are in need of someone to make sure they have a good holiday.

“The latest numbers, we had 987 children still needing sponsors in Marshall County,” said Jennifer Palmer with the Christmas Coalition. “These are children that have been pre-screened when we take applications in September.”

Palmer says if you would like to sponsor a child, the easiest way to do it is to simply visit their website and fill out an application.

“And then we will send you a list that will have some information as far as the child’s sizes.  Favorite colors.  Cartoon characters.  Alabama or Auburn.”

This year around 1900 children signed up for help.
