This pattern isn’t going anywhere. Most of the nation is the deep freeze and we are still over a month away from the official start of winter. Here is a look at the national current temperatures at 4am.
Temperatures this afternoon won’t get much above 40° in most spots. This is way below the average. The long-term pattern calls for several shots of cold air to move through keeping the Tennessee Valley and most of the country in the deep freeze through next week.
How does this compare to average! Well, here it is. The average high for this time of year is 65° with a low 43°. Of four of the next seven days, we don’t reach the average low for a high!
