HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Huntsville Police say a body was found in a wooded area near Oakwood University Thursday afternoon.

Huntsville Police were called to assist Madison Police investigators at 4:00 p.m. Thursday.

The Madison County Coroner removed the body of a black male victim from a wooded area near Oakwood University. Police say the victim suffered from an apparent gunshot wound. His identity is not being released at this time and the case is still under investigation by Huntsville Police.

WHNT News 19 has learned through multiple sources close to the investigation that the body is likely connected to a homicide at Mountain Lodge Apartments in Madison Wednesday.

42-year-old Arun Noble of Athens was shot multiple times Wednesday morning in that homicide. Police were searching for two men in connection to the shooting. One of them was taken into custody Thursday.

Police have not released any additional information, but WHNT News 19 has a crew on the scene working to gather more information.
