MADISON, Ala. (WHNT) – Madison Police say one person is in custody in connection to a man’s death at Mountain Lodge Apartments located at 365 Shelton Road.
Police Chief Larry Muncey said 42-year-old Arun Noble of Athens was shot around 10:30 a.m., Wednesday. He died at the scene after he was shot multiple times.
“I was putting my kids in the car,” said Mountain Lodge resident Nicole Wages. “That’s when I found the young gentleman on the other side of the car.”
Wages made the 911 call that turned the apartment complex into a crime scene for more than two hours.
“He wasn’t breathing, there were no chest movements, his eyes were wide open,” said Wages. “His hands, they had blood on them, there was blood on the vehicle that he was behind.”
That vehicle was towed. It was a white SUV owned by a resident that lives in the building that faces the parking lot where Noble was found.
“We do believe at this point that the individuals knew each other,” said Chief Muncey. “They were interacting so it wasn’t a stranger-stranger issue.”
Police interviewed witnesses at the apartment complex. We understand Noble was found in the parking lot next to Building B. Investigators put several evidence markers in that area.
Police were looking for two persons of interest. Chief Muncey said both are black males in their early 20s. Around the time of the shooting, one man was dressed in all red. Both were wearing hoodie-type jackets.
Late Wednesday, police issued an updated description of the vehicle the persons of interest were driving. They are looking for a 1997 white four-door Acura 3.2 with Alabama license plate 44AZ729.
Thursday, one of the two men was taken into custody.
Chief Muncey said the men are believed to be armed. If you have any tips, you are urged to call Madison Police at (256) 722-7190 or (256) 772-5689.
Editor’s Note: Police initially issued a description of the car being an older white Toyota Camry. A second description was of a 1997 Acura with an Auburn University license plate. They now believe it is the white 4-door Acura described above.
