Driver air lifted to Huntsville Hospital after two vehicle wreck in Killen

KILLEN, Ala. (WHNT) – A driver was air lifted to Huntsville Hospital following a two-vehicle in Lauderdale County on Sunday, Alabama State Troopers reported.

Two vehicles collided in the westbound lanes of U.S. 72, about 1.5 miles east of the town, near Brooks High School, the Quad Cities trooper post reported. The wreck occurred at 1:50 p.m.

A driver of a 1998 Jeep, John McKeown, 63, was the lone person listed as injured in the report. He was taken to Huntsville Hospital by medical helicopter.

There were multiple media reports that portions of U.S. 72 was closed while the wreck scene was cleared.

The accident is under investigation by the Quad Cities troopers post.
