TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WHNT)-  CBS announced Sunday afternoon that the number one ranked Mississippi State Bulldogs’ visit to Bryant-Denny Stadium to take on the Alabama Crimson Tide will air live on the network.   Kickoff is scheduled for Saturday at 2:30 p.m. on WHNT News 19.

Number 5 Alabama defeated number 16 LSU in overtime 20-13 Saturday night at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge.   The Tide is expected to move into the top 4 when the new College Football Playoff rankings are released Tuesday night.

Saturday’s game against the undefeated Bulldogs will mark the 5th time this season Alabama has appeared on CBS.   This could mean that CBS will not air the Iron Bowl on November 29th.   Television rules with the SEC say that a team can only appear a total of 5 times on one network.   Depending on what happens against Alabama and Mississippi State, CBS could decide to purchase the rights for the game from ESPN.
