Sex offender arrested in Athens for working less than 1,000 feet from a school
ATHENS, Ala. – An adult sex offender was arrested Wednesday for violating his employment restriction.
Wednesday, the U.S. Marshal’s Office alerted Athens Police that Tony Allred, a convicted sex offender, was working at a locksmith located less than 1,000 feet from Athens Middle School.
U.S. Marshals say Allred had been working there since July.
Athens Police arrested Allred and charged him with Adult Sex Offender-Employment Restriction Violation.
The owner of the locksmith told police he didn’t know Allred was a sex offender.
