ATHENS, Ala. (WHNT) – Due to the early morning heavy rains, Dinner in the Orchard with Alabama Shakes has moved.

The event will be held at the Limestone County Event Center located at 114 W. Pryor Street in Athens.

A social hour will begin at 4:30 p.m. with dinner and a performance to follow.

Parking is available at the center, along the railroad tracks and other downtown areas.

The event was originally scheduled to be held outside at Isom’s Orchard in Athens.

“Regrettably, the heavy rain has created a situation where ticketholders and volunteers could get stuck because the ground is saturated,” Athens Arts League Committee Chairwoman Diane Lehr said.  “Isom’s Orchard is a gorgeous setting, and we had hoped to share the farm-to-table experience of eating amid the orchard trees and enjoying music by the pond, but the weather has forced us to move locations.”

Parking is available at the center, along the railroad track, and other downtown areas.

Dinner in the Orchard with Alabama Shakes is a fundraiser for the Athens Arts League.

The event is sold out.
