HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - The Better Business Bureau of North Alabama welcomed a new face this week.
Elizabeth Garcia was named President of the BBB on Thursday, following the announcement last month that former President Michele Mason accepted a position with the BBB serving Southeast Florida and the Caribbean.
Garcia comes to the BBB well equipped in the area of career, business and workforce development.
A Huntsville transplant of 30 years, Garcia previously worked with career services at Redstone Arsenal, NASA Space Flight Center’s career department, Hospice Family Care & The Chamber of Commerce of Huntsville / Madison County.
Most recently, Garcia was working in the private sector, helping small businesses write marketing plans so they could get off to a good start.
Garcia told WHNT News 19, she’s ready for her new challenge at the BBB.
“This organization, what it represents and what it stands for is something that is very close to my heart,” said Garcia. “I believe in anything we do, we have to operate with integrity and that’s very true of businesses, especially if we want to continue to build a market place of trust.”
Garcia says she’s excited to continue to serve the Tennessee Valley and work with WHNT News 19, highlighting good businesses and exposing the bad ones.
