DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) — Thursday afternoon just before 1 p.m., Decatur police received a call about a man with a gun sitting on a park bench at a Point Mallard Park public walking and hiking trail. Upon arrival, officers and paramedics found him on the ground, dead.
During the investigation, officers determined he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
