HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) - A woman died Sunday morning in  a two-vehicle accident on Cecil Ashburn Drive.  Her husband was hospitalized.

Huntsville Police say a Buick LeSabre and a Honda minivan collided near Donegal Drive, closing Cecil Ashburn from Donegal to Old Big Cove Road for about three hours.

Police say Martha Radzinski, 66, of Huntsville, died on the scene.  She was driving the minivan.  Her husband, Phil Radzinski, 65, is in fair condition at Huntsville Hospital.

Mr. Radzinski and two passengers in the minivan, Leigh and Scott Bridenstine, were able to climb out.

Firefighters worked to free Mrs. Radzinski, but she died shortly after they got her out of the van.

Witnesses helped pull the driver of the Buick to safety.  Police identified him as David Shots, 35.

According to police, the Buick LeSabre was headed east on Cecil Ashburn, but crossed the center line and hit the minivan.   The Buick caught fire and the Honda flipped over on the driver's side.

This isn't the first deadly accident Cecil Ashburn has seen. In 2012 a 22-year-old Huntsville man was killed and months before that -- two young women were killed and another was critically injured.
