HARTSELLE, Ala. – Hartselle Mayor Don Hall apologized for his recent DUI arrest and said he plans on returning to work Wednesday, according to The Hartselle Enquirer.

Hall addressed the Hartselle City Council at the council’s meeting Tuesday night, saying, he is “disappointed and embarrassed for the City of Hartselle.”

In a statement, Hall said the DUI arrest brought him to the realization that he had developed a “serious problem” with alcohol that required professional assistance.

Hall said he has been seeking professional help for the past two weeks.

Too many alcoholics already in our many governmental organizations in leadership roles…he needs to step down and go into treatment and re-run for office after a successful treatment program has given him control of his life’s actions before he kills someone by drunk driving or worse.
