WHNT News 19’s crew on the scene said they could hear an irate man shouting from a residence earlier in the evening.

Reports show the man went back into the home when officers tried to arrest him and refused to come out. That’s when officers at the scene set up a perimeter and established a command post. SWAT and hostage negotiators then responded to the incident.

After about seven hours, officers were able to take the man into custody around 11:00 Friday night without incident. They transported him to Huntsville Hospital for medial evaluation.

According to Huntsville Police, the incident started as an argument between neighbors.

Officers say no one was hurt in the standoff.
