(WHNT) - The Municipal Election runoff is Oct. 7 in Huntsville.  It's a very important election for District 3, south Huntsville, because there's also a school board race on the ballot.  No other Huntsville districts have runoffs that day.

Outgoing Huntsville Board of Education member Jennie Robinson is taking on managing real estate broker Walt Hennessee for the District Three City Council seat.  They were our guests on Leadership Perspectives for the week of September 19.

Voters in District 3, please make plans to vote.  That's also the week of Fall Break for schools, so if you'll be out of town, apply for an absentee ballot.

WHNT News 19 will bring you more coverage of the District 3 City Council and School Board races in the coming weeks.  We are partnering with the Grissom High School PTSA to host a Candidate Forum on Monday, September 29 at 7 p.m. in the Grissom High School auditorium. The public is encouraged to attend.  We will also stream the event live on and post it in its entirety afterward.  Look for more details soon.
