LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — A Limestone County couple is looking for a new place to call home after theirs was destroyed in a late night fire.

The home was on the 17000 block of Andrews Street, north west of Athens.

Firefighters from Owens and Pleasant Grove responded to a mobile home fire just after 11:00 p.m. Tuesday. When they arrived, they found flames shooting from the home.

The couple living in the home was able to make it out, but the family’s dog did not make it. All the couple was able to save were the clothes they were wearing.

It took volunteers about an hour to put the fire out. No person was hurt.

The home is considered a loss.

Crews are expected to return to the home this morning to investigate the cause of the fire.
