FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – Family members of a missing Shoals man made a gruesome discovery Tuesday afternoon.

According to Sheriff Shannon Oliver, the family found a vehicle matching the description of one owned by a missing man along Highway 23 North, two miles from Vina.

Sheriff Oliver says it appears the Nissan truck left the roadway and went down a 30-to-40 foot ravine.  What appears to be the body of a man was found inside.

Investigators say the 58-year-old man who is missing has not been seen since September 10th.

A positive identification has not been made.

Sheriff Oliver says it does not appear that any foul play was involved in the truck leaving the road.
