Olusola Kuponiyi is charged with attempt to commit murder.   He was released on bail in April.

His trial was scheduled to start Monday morning, but the proceedings have been delayed until November.

Investigators believe Kuponiyi slammed Officer Jonathan Sallis to the ground behind Quizno’s on University Drive in August of 2013.

Court documents state he also stabbed Sallis in the arm with a knife.

Sallis also said Kuponiyi reached for the officer’s gun during the incident.
