HAZEL GREEN, Ala. (AL.com) –  Sara Frye from Hazel Green could get her paws on $25,000  this September if her cute kitty video wins “The Friskies.”

Frye’s video of her foster cats Lilac and Linus were picked as a finalist out of thousands of videos submitted for the contest.

Frye fostered Lilac, Linus and another cat, Leonard, for Shelby Humane Society earlier this year while she was finishing school. The 24-year-old said she entered the Friskies contest through Instagram, never expecting to be a winner.

Frye’s video is one of 12 overall finalists and one of three finalists in the “Rescute” category. Even if Frye’s video doesn’t win the grand prize, she could still win $5,000 if she wins the “Rescute” category.

The winner is selected by popular vote, and people can vote once each day, and voting continues through Sept. 8.

For every vote, Friskies will give one can of Friskies wet cat food to a shelter, up to 250,000 cans and a monetary donation of more than $20,000 to shelter partners.
