Firefighters responded to an early morning chicken house fire

MORGAN COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – Volunteer fire departments in Morgan County responded to an early morning chicken house fire.

The fire happened around one this morning on Breeding Road in the Somerville area.

Firefighters say the could see the flames above the tree line before they even got to the fire.

The owner of the property has several chicken houses, thankfully, firefighters were able to contain the blaze to just one.

That one chicken house had about eleven thousand chickens delivered to it yesterday.
All the chickens died in the fire.
