FLORENCE, Ala. (WHNT) – Police say it appears a man’s death outside a Florence restaurant earlier this week was an accident.

The man was found unresponsive in the parking lot of Buffalo Wild Wings, on Florence Boulevard, around 11 p.m. Tuesday.  He had trauma to the back of his head, and was rushed to ECM Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

After investigating the matter, police say it appears the man was trying to walk up an embankment when he slipped and hit his head on the asphalt. There are no signs of foul play.

Police notified the man’s family, who asked us to keep the name private.  He was 64 years old.
