HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Are you getting ready to travel this July 4th weekend? Loading up the car for a road trip with the kids? Maybe to see family, or hit the beach?

If so, you might want to check out iExit. The free app can be downloaded on your smartphone or tablet and shows you what’s available at exits along any Interstate.

Those who’ve traveled with young kids will be the first to tell you – knowing gas, food and bathroom options before taking the time to get off the freeway is super helpful.

Since exit signs showing food, gas and lodging are often incomplete or out-of-date… iExit has stepped in to fill the void.

The app uses GPS or search to identify the exits near you – showing what points of interest are available in brightly color-coded markers.

You can also search for restaurants, hotels and more using a number of pre-defined categories.
