HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT)-  David Blair announced late Sunday evening that he will not seek re-election to the Huntsville City School Board.  Blair currently serves as the board’s president.

In a news release Blair said, “I do plan to stay active in our schools and this great community, helping in any way I can. I thank my fellow board members who have worked so hard and especially our Superintendent Casey Wardynski who has done a phenomenal job leading this system…we are lucky to have him. We have a great and dedicated staff. I am also proud of the fact that we are improving the education for all of our students.”

Earlier this year Blair made an unsuccessful run for the Alabama State Senate.  After he failed to unseat incumbent Paul Sanford, many people had encouraged him to seek another term on the school board.
