GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT)-   Tuesday the Marshall County EMA's emergency operations center hosted people from across the Tennessee Valley and even other states in a training course designed to help prepare for disasters.

"It's the basic introduction into command and control for emergency responders," said instructor Sean Hughes.  "It's kind of their first foray into management of incidences."

The people taking the course are from different agencies.  Some of them are with the Alabama National Guard and others work on Redstone Arsenal.   The course is covering a wide range of disaster scenarios.

"Such as those associated with severe weather, tornadoes, hazardous material spills and other disasters."
