MADISON, Ala. – A bus full of Madison City Schools students was involved in a crash Wednesday morning.

Madison City Schools Spokesman John Peck said the crash happened near Rock Bottom Carpets on Hwy 72 at Slaughter Rd. around 9:15 Wednesday morning.

The bus was carrying 60 children from the Heritage Elementary School Summer Day Program who were on a field trip to Monaco Pictures, according to Peck.

A pick-up truck and the bus collided. Thankfully, there were no injures.

Peck said all parents were notified and the bus was taken back to the school.

The children were able to have their fun back at the school. They watched a movie and had popcorn.

I saw the aftermath of this accident. It looked like the bus rear-ended a black pickup truck. The bus had moved to the parking lot of Rock Bottom Carpets and the kids were standing outside of it, talking to the police and firefighters that came to investigate the accident.
