REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala. (WHNT) – People traveling through Redstone Arsenal’s Gate 9 will notice a reduced speed limit as crews work on improvements to Rideout Road.

The project includes milling and resurfacing of the road from North Marshall to Fowler Roads.

Crews will mostly work during the night starting at 6:00 p.m.

Traffic is being allowed on Rideout Road during this time.

However, the speed limit has been reduced from 45 to 35 miles per hour.

“Drivers will probably want to avoid the area as much as possible,” said Redstone Arsenal spokesperson Christopher Colster. “But for those that choose to travel along Rideout, please slow down and use caution so we can keep everyone safe.”

Work began on Sunday and is expected to last up to three weeks.
