I am in Colorado and tell you that this same scam is happening here, the call comes in and they say they are from the IRS and ask to speak with my mother the person that calls says there is an issue with my mothers taxes, I have told this person that I know that this is a scam and that I have reported them and since I told them that they have called here like 6 time if not more and called tonight at 9:57pm the person speaks with a very deep accent to me sounds like an Asian voice. Just want folks to know that the person calling here for my mother also pulled this same thing last year and it sound just like the same guy and when I called the number back told the guy off he started to get rude with me but I just hung up on him, so folks please beware, do not give any info out and contact your local IRS and ask them if there is any issues with your taxes, luckily my parents have their taxes done and the folks that does their taxes checks into it.
