HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) - A bake sale in Huntsville helped take a bite out of pediatric cancer.

A few people got together in Huntsville to help sell 'Cookies for Kids', raising money to help find a cure for pediatric cancer.

"It's more like a movement of these tiny, pop up bake sales that happen all across the country," said Steven Jackson. "It's helping to fund pediatric cancer research. One of the most under funded cancers and the biggest killer of children."

This is the 3rd or 4th year organizers in Huntsville have participated in the fundraiser. It's through a nationwide nonprofit called 'Cookies For Kids Cancer'. Last year they raised $2,600 locally. This year they raised more than $3,500.

The bake sales were at both Mellow Mushroom locations in Huntsville Saturday.
