HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – A Madison County judge set bond for Maurice Cartwright who is accused of choking and killing his 3-year-old son.

Judge Claude Hundley set Cartwright’s bond at $400,000 with certain conditions.  He must submit to electronic monitoring and pay for the expense associated with it.  He must also report to the Madison County Probation Office weekly.  Judge Hundley also ordered that Cartwright must live with his mother.

Cartwright has not posted the bail and remains in the Madison County Jail.

Huntsville Police investigators say Cartwright choked his son causing brain trauma and severe bleeding in April 2013. The child later died at Huntsville Hospital.  Huntsville Police arrested him and charged him with Capital Murder.  He had been held without bail since his arrest.
