Update: Pratt Avenue Back Open After Fire at Abandoned Home

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) - A portion of Pratt Avenue is closed due to a fire at an abandoned home in Huntsville.

A Huntsville police officer noticed smoke coming form behind the Flooring America building around 4:45 a.m.

Huntsville firefighters responded to find flames coming from an abandoned home.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire in about 15 minutes.  They are working to put out hot spots.

Pratt Avenue is closed between Church and Washington Streets.
