ATHENS, Ala. (WHNT) – Athens Utilities crews continue to work around the clock to restore power, along with crews from several other cities in north Alabama and southern Tennessee.

As of Tuesday morning, just under 1,400 customers are without power.

The effort to restore power hasn’t stopped since last Monday evening, shortly after an EF-3 tornado hit Limestone County.

When will we ever learn? Bury the lines, sure it will cost more but it saves lives, trees and looks so much better not having power poles and lines running everywhere. How many of the same lines were replaced only three years ago?
