WASHINGTON, D.C. (WHNT) – Congressman Mo Brooks (AL-05) released a statement Tuesday morning in response to the severe storms that moved across our area Monday.

“Yesterday, the Tennessee Valley faced a series of deadly storms that wreaked havoc across the Southeast. I am saddened by the loss of life and destruction caused by these storms and will keep these families in my thoughts and prayers,” U.S. Rep. Brooks said.

Brooks said a FEMA Liaison Officer is deployed to evaluate the damage.  The liaison is working with the Alabama State Emergency Operations Center.

“I will continue to work with state and local officials to monitor the effects of this storm and help wherever possible,” Brooks said.

Brooks urged people to remain vigilant about Tuesday’s storms as well.
