HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) - The second-ranked University of Alabama in Huntsville softball team earned its eighth doubleheader sweep of the season on Saturday, winning 4-0 and 6-2 over visiting West Alabama in Gulf South Conference play at Charger Park. UAH improves to 39-7 (23-6 GSC), while the Tigers slip to 24-23 (11-16 GSC).

The Chargers established the GSC record for steals in a season on Saturday when Mallory McNeal stole second in the second inning of the first game, helping UAH surpass the previous mark of 179 set by Valdosta State in the 1995 season. UAH has amassed 186 thus far this year.
