HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) - Huntsville fire fighters risked it all to fight a fire at the El Camino Real Mexican food restaurant located on University Drive Thursday.

The brave men and women at Huntsville Fire & Rescue Station 5 responded to the fire at El Camino Real around 4 p.m. Thursday. When units arrived, they witnessed smoke and flames coming from the roof area.

Firefighters entered the restaurant and took a hose line to the attic, where they found fire covering that entire area. Firefighters were only able to stay in the attic area for very short intervals, due to the extreme heat, according to a news release. They were able to control the fire within 45 minutes of arriving.

A Fire Prevention Investigation Officer determined the most likely origin of the fire started in or near an office area, but the exact cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

Everyone inside the building was able to exit safely and no injuries were reported at the scene.
