DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) – Jameson Staten, who is on trial for murder in the June 2012 Decatur shooting death of Glenn Blackwood, has been found guilty after just over an hour of deliberation by the jury.

Lorin Wilson, who also pleaded guilty in shooting death, testified Wednesday he obtained the weapon used in the shooting from Staten.

Wilson was asked by prosecutors to tell who provided the gun used in the killing of Glenn Blackwood.

“Jameson did,” Wilson replied.

Wilson said Staten gave him the gun the night of the murder. Staten, 18, of Decatur, is also charged with hindering prosecution in the case.

Prosecutors have said Staten was an accomplice in the murder. The defense says Staten did not know a murder was about to take place June 2, 2012, when Blackwood was shot 5 times at his Chestnut Street apartment.

19-year-old Wilson pleaded guilty Monday to killing Blackwood by shooting him with a .380-caliber pistol. Wilson will be sentenced Sept. 10. Steven King Jr., another of the three defendants, also pleaded guilty Monday and received a split 20-year sentence.

I hope those three burn in hell for what they did.. Glenn wouldn’t hurt anyone.. He was so nice sweet and caring. I know how he was I dated him.. I still love him to this day and always will… I don’t believe justice has been served.. All three of those low life idiots should have gotten the death penalty.. I mean it’s only fair since they gave Glenn the death penalty and leaving his wife and child behind to suffer… Glenn you will gorevr be in my heart and I miss you so much.
