DEKALB COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) - The DeKalb County Sheriff's Office has arrested the man they were looking for in some woods near Fyffe.

The man was caught around 11:30 a.m.

Macedonia School was on lockdown as a precaution while the search was taking place.

DeKalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris said sometime in the overnight hours, deputies were called to a home on County Road 38 in Fyffe because someone had shot up a car.

Deputies took a report on the matter, and were finishing up when a person drove by with a gun pointed out the window, like he was about to shoot them.

Deputies started chasing the car into Jackson County on County Road 43, to the other side of Matheny's Bridge, the dividing line between Jackson and DeKalb counties.

The man wrecked the car near the bridge and ran into the woods.  Deputies searched for him for several hours, finding him around 11:30 a.m.

Sheriff Harris identified the man in custody as Jason William Alfred Townson, age 33.
