MADISON, Ala. (WHNT) - Auburn landed a verbal commitment from Madison Academy running back Kerryon Johnson Tuesday. The first-team all state athlete says he is firm on his decision with the Tigers but will continue to take official visits in the coming year.

"I don't think any athlete especially in his junior year is 200 percent committed to a college, but I'm not going to be that guy who commits, decomits, and commits again. I feel great at Auburn and I wouldn't expect that to change."

Johnson is looked by several recruiting services as Alabama's best running back prospect in the class of 2015, and a top five athlete in the nation. The 6 foot 200 pound junior did not know yet if he would be at Auburn's A-Day this upcoming weekend, but is excited to play football at Jordan-Hare Stadium in the years to come.
