Duplex on 7th Avenue Burns, Two Families Displaced

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) - Two Huntsville families have to find another place to stay after their duplex caught fire.

Huntsville firefighters responded to the 3000 block of 7th Avenue around 11:00 p.m. Sunday.

Flames were shooting from the back of the home when firefighters arrived.  It took crews roughly an hour to get the fire out completely.

Two adults and four children lived in the front apartment.  Paramedics took one of the children to the hospital to be checked out for minor injuries.

Two adults lived in the back apartment, where the fire broke out.

All eight people will have to find another place to stay while repairs are made.  Investigators are still looking into the cause of the fire.
