HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) - In this video, you'll hear rapid gunfire being exchanged by Huntsville Police and the shooting suspect on Stanford Drive.

This was around 2 a.m.

The person who filmed this asked not to be named.

    So was it the suspect firing off so many rounds, or are the police just than innacuate and trigger happy? There is absolutely no reason it should have taken near that many rounds to take this guy down. But it could have been the suspect just firing away hoping to hit something.

      All those shots are the cops.

      The suspect had a shotgun (you can hear it at the beginning of the video)

      I heard his shotgun echoing off the building around the hospital.

    That gunfire sounded like rifle fire NOT a shotgun. I thought SWAT Teams had a sniper for this type of operation (meaning less shots fired).It’s only a question….NOT a criticism.
